[insert squeal of delight here]

A few things, almost all knitting related today!

First off I finished my second Catkin on the weekend, on the 31st to be exact.  I love hand-died one of a kind yarns and I have a thing for buying local and Art-By-Ana is all that and cushy and wonderful on top!  I have also yet to meet one of her wonderful yarns that ran when I washed it or wasn’t just as wonderful to knit with as it was to pet.  Almost all the darker commercial yarns I’ve used do and since I love to mix a light and a dark colour her’s is a wonderful thing.

Catkin is now blocking on my bed & will be ready to ware tomorrow!

Ana of Art-by-Ana (Rav group) had been running a contest in March, knit something with one of her hand made yarns (go check them out (etsy page), her stock is a little low at the moment, but go look, they’re pretty! And there will be a whole lot more up over the next couple of weeks.).  I figured, it was the 11th hour but what they hey!  I also wanted to share this shawl because I loves it so.

Went out for brunch with a bunch of knitters to kick off the April-June KAL (the Forest Path Stole won 4-2 so that’s what I’m going to knit.) which will have it’s own post tomorrow.

When I got back I had a message saying that I’d won the draw!  I’ve been squealing ever since.  I never win draws, ever, well up to now anyway.  The prize is one of her wonderful sock garden party cakes and a notions bag I’ve been trying to figure out what to knit with it!

About Jadedknitter

I'm an author, a knitwear designer, a painter, and trying to find my love of the kitchen again. I write romance novels (they're candy, for the brain!) and read mostly history. I love to knit in the evenings curled up with my pug and watching whatever documentary strikes my fancy. My designs are born from a desire to knit something that I can see in my minds eye but can't find a pattern for. My current crop of paintings have been Celtic knots, I've drawn them for years now I'm colouring them in. Who knows what I'll end up doing next!

Catkin is gorgeous! Do we get pictures of you wearing it, too? 🙂

I’ve never mastered the art of taking a good self portrait, so probably no picture of me wearing it. There will be a nice one of Mabel though. 😉
