I finished off the Eileen Cardigan that I was making for Mum. She loves it, even if the sleeves are a little long. Oops. I really need to make a list of dimensions for people so that I have those to go from in the future.
I started the Owls sweater, also for Mum and I’m most of the way through the body. It’s one of those well written, easy to follow, easy to knit patterns. That and you have to love something on size 6.5mm needles! I’ve never been much for chunky yarns but I have to admit doing a sweater in them is wonderful because after a few hours work I’m a few inches from the arms!

It's much larger now, this was taken Saturday afternoon.
Speaking of arms, I’m going to have to wait until tomorrow to really do much after I do those last few inches. I have a collection of DPNs, I just don’t have many in the larger sizes so I’ll have to walk down to Knit Knackers tomorrow when they’re open.
I’ve also had a hankering for sewing lately. I want a case for my knit-picks options needles and maybe a small roll to carry some DPNs around in. I also want to make a skirt. But that’s a whole different kettle.
I haven’t done any serious sewing in several years (read: decades) and don’t really know how to work my machine. So that might be the project for tonight – sit down and figure out how to work my sewing machine. I don’t know if the machine is in good working order, I don’t know if the problems I had a couple of years ago were just me.
I found a book that I think will work for getting me started and then I can go from there.
I figure worst case is that I buy a new machine in February. I’m just trying to avoid dipping into my yarn fund!
