Welcome to 2012

I’m going to start this year off right, with a Finished Object!

And a WIP, but it’s almost an FO!

One FO, one almost FO (there are 2 mitts, the other is missing the thumb, but it's at home & I am not)

For Christmas one friend, JL, gave me a pair of knitted mitts.  It’s the first time that I’ve received a hand knit item in a long time.  She didn’t make them, but they were hand-made and bought for a good cause (in support of the Ottawa Human Society).  And she bought them because she knew that I would love the hand knits.

I’ve been off on vacation for the past week, it was a glorious week of not having to worry, not having to go out if I didn’t want to, and knitting.  Hence the FO!

I also finished my Mother’s hat and cowl, no pictures yet, I have to pin her down long enough to take them!

There was a lot of cute this Christmas.

Gadget, waiting for Sammy to finish eating so he can check the bowel for leftovers

I had 2 dogs, Gadget & Sammy (M’s cutie-pie)

The cat's enjoy a good photo-bomb...

and 2 cats, who stayed at their own home, but were given daily visits and loving.  I was trying to take a picture of the bag of food so I could pick up some more, but a certain someone decided that he wanted into the picture too.

Last weekend the tree came down, and over the course of this week the house will be put back to rights.  I’m hoping to get the last of the boxes out-of-the-way so that I can pull out my sewing machine and get some of those WIP finished.  And do things like fix the hem in my goo pants…

Now back to the daily grind.  Still haven’t sorted out the WIP that I have kicking around the house, but that will be done and photographed.  I’m hoping that 2012 will be the year that I actually finish some of these things!

About Jadedknitter

I'm an author, a knitwear designer, a painter, and trying to find my love of the kitchen again. I write romance novels (they're candy, for the brain!) and read mostly history. I love to knit in the evenings curled up with my pug and watching whatever documentary strikes my fancy. My designs are born from a desire to knit something that I can see in my minds eye but can't find a pattern for. My current crop of paintings have been Celtic knots, I've drawn them for years now I'm colouring them in. Who knows what I'll end up doing next!
