Coffee & FOs

I have a long history of leaving things left un-done, my apartment is littered with one sock waiting for a second. I’ve said before that I don’t consider socks in my UFO count though, there are reasons for that, about 4 of which I can see from where I’m sitting typing this.

I finished the decimal cardigan last night while watching TV and it’s blocking on my bed right now. I still have to stitch it and do the button bands, but I should be able to do that at work today. Hopefully this will be ready to be gifted by Monday at the latest.

Decimal & Gadget

I took a picture of just the sweater blocking, before Gadget decided that he was going to be his normal camera hog self, but it’s blurry. So here it is with my furry baby, Gadget.

I started the Swallowtail Shawl last Saturday. Sitting in Knit-Knackers, rain, plus no umbrella means that I’m going to get a little something to keep me busy. It’s in Malabrigo colourway “Apple Green” which is a whole lot closer to a neon then an apple in my opinion. Either way this is a wonderfully quick little knit that will keep me warm and funky in the winter.

Green Swallowtail

This is a little better then half done and I’ve really only worked on it a couple of days. Now to figure out mitts and a hat to match! I’m thinking a contrasting purple maybe? Opinions?

As to the coffee, I’ve had issues making coffee for years. I like my cup in the morning and had all but given up and being able to make any myself until it was pointed out to me that I made it just fine at my parents place in their machine. The coffee machine that I’ve had for over a year now is the space age expensive one that my ex insisted on buying ages ago, it’s never given me a good cup of coffee. I spend 20$ at the local Wally World (machine and jumbo pack of filters) and it makes a perfect cup. It’s claim to fame (from the box) is an on/off switch (it doesn’t even have an auto shut off) and a water gage! I’m still playing around with the exact amount of grounds to use, but I think this morning I’ve nailed it. This is as close to a cup of Tim Horten’s coffee that I’ve had outside of a Timmy’s.

Now to get ready for work. Need to find a sock to take to a meeting with me so I don’t fall asleep…

About Jadedknitter

I'm an author, a knitwear designer, a painter, and trying to find my love of the kitchen again. I write romance novels (they're candy, for the brain!) and read mostly history. I love to knit in the evenings curled up with my pug and watching whatever documentary strikes my fancy. My designs are born from a desire to knit something that I can see in my minds eye but can't find a pattern for. My current crop of paintings have been Celtic knots, I've drawn them for years now I'm colouring them in. Who knows what I'll end up doing next!
