Another day, another hair cut OR Doing the rain dance

I’ve had a philosophy with my hair for years, I leave it alone so long as it leaves me alone.  We have an uneasy truce, it does what it wants and I’ve learned to let it.  It pissed me off earlier in the week, so I now have short hair instead of the below the shoulders which I’ve had for a couple of years.  Problem solved.

I’m down to the final repeat before the edging on my newest shawl.  I’ve fell in love with the Aeolian Shawl from  I’ve found that I’m in love with the way that Elizabeth Freeman marries Estonia stitches with natural elements.  This is the second Aeolian that I’ve done, this one has no beads (the other was a wedding shawl for a friend) and I’m doing it out of Noro, I’ve never been a fan of the way that Noro feels but  the newest “Sekku” tickled my fancy and this is now the 3rd thing that I’ve made in it.

I’m finding that I’ll go on jags.  Might be a colour, might be a pattern, or a yarn.  This time round it’s Noro.  The next one is going to be green (Cascades 220 in colour 9338).  I have no idea what it’s going to be, that will be figured out later.  Rather I should say I don’t know which sweater pattern it’s going to be.  There are a couple off knitty that I’m entertaining as well as one out of Mother Daughter Knits that is aptly named “A Grey Cardigan.”  I’m leaning towards that one as it has all the elements to make it a quick knit.

First I really should finish the sweater for Jessie.  She has been waiting a while and it would be nice to get that out of my UFO pile.

Speaking of the UFO pile, found a way to finish a few things that I’ve left in the bottom of a bin for a while, my friend Angel is learning to knit and they are both things that she likes so I’m giving them to her, yarn, needles and all.  There are many ways to spread this bug, and she’s been bitten by the knitting bug hard, I’m just making sure that it sticks!  Also it gives her two fairly large projects that she can finish quickly (one is a sweater missing half a sleeve the other a shrug).

Now enough talking and more bed.  I have to get up, Gadget has a vet appointment in the morning and I have testing in the afternoon.  Wish me luck!

Oh, and for the WWKIP day in Toronto, pray for rain for tomorrow for me, I can’t go because of the tests, but the rain day is Sunday, and guess who’s got a car and is completely free?

About Jadedknitter

I'm an author, a knitwear designer, a painter, and trying to find my love of the kitchen again. I write romance novels (they're candy, for the brain!) and read mostly history. I love to knit in the evenings curled up with my pug and watching whatever documentary strikes my fancy. My designs are born from a desire to knit something that I can see in my minds eye but can't find a pattern for. My current crop of paintings have been Celtic knots, I've drawn them for years now I'm colouring them in. Who knows what I'll end up doing next!
